PacWolf Fulfilment is a high growth, UK based third party logistics provider that is part of CS Ellis Group. PacWolf operate from six warehouses across three locations, and currently support over 60 customers by providing warehousing, storage, packing, Value Added Services (VAS) and distribution services; helping them run their eCom, retail and wholesale operations. PacWolf support businesses of all shapes and sizes, from large international organisations to e-commerce start-ups.

The Challenge

The fulfilment business was experiencing rapid growth in customers and volumes and the incumbent Warehouse Management System (WMS) was unable to support this. PacWolf needed a modern, functionally rich WMS which could meet user requirements and support the end-to-end warehouse operations.

PacWolf were looking for a partner support them to identify the most suitable WMS for their needs and undertake a selection process, through a WMS tender, within the very tight timeframes required.

Our Approach

System Requirements Gathering
BoxLogic worked with the PacWolf team to gather all the WMS specific requirements, refine, and agree the ‘To-Be’ process flows. A long-list of potential WMS vendors was recommended by BoxLogic based on the ‘To-Be’ process flows and user requirements.
Request for Information (RFI)
BoxLogic’s team produced an RFI document to confirm the suitability and interest of vendors in preparation for a more detailed process. The responses were evaluated together, and an initial shortlist was agreed with the client.
Request for Pricing (RFP)
A detailed RFP document was compiled to inform the vendors of the user requirements. This supported the vendors produced detailed and fully costed proposals. Once issued to the shortlisted vendors, BoxLogic supported by resolving technical questions between both parties.
WMS Vendor Selection
The vendor proposals were evaluated and refined, as required. BoxLogic supported reference site visits and conversations with references, alongside multiple presentations between the vendors and PacWolf. This informed another shortlisting of the two preferred vendors to further refine proposals and progress commercial discussions.
Vendor Negotiations
BoxLogic supported the PacWolf project team throughout the evaluation and negotiations process until an agreement was reached and contract was awarded to the preferred WMS Vendor.

The Results

  • Selection of a Tier 1 WMS provider that consistently features among the ‘leaders’ on the Gartner quadrant
  • Developed ‘To-Be’ process maps and  requirements, in line with best practice and Tier 1 & 2 WMS functionality
  • Negotiation support to acquire a Tier 1 warehouse management system on excellent commercial terms, ensuring great value for money for PacWolf

What Does Our Client  Say?

Being a 3PL our requirements were varied and finding the right vendor who could do what we needed was a struggle. Boxlogic understood our needs and were able to recommend a good selection of various vendors that resulted in a Tier 1 system that is not only dynamic and task driven but will increase our throughput and reduce inefficiencies.

Boxlogic made the whole process seamless, and I do greatly believe without them we would not have the system we have now.
